The Independent Garage Association (IGA) has responded to Transport for London’s (TfL) consultation on the Congestion Charge. While recognising the need for measures to improve air quality and encourage cleaner vehicles, the IGA is concerned the proposals could inadvertently penalise independent garages and the motorists who rely on them.

“The used car market in July has maintained growth throughout Q2, with transactions reaching almost 2 million, therefore returning the market to pre-pandemic levels in the first half of 2025” said Sue Robinson, Chief Executive of the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA), commenting on the latest SMMT’s used car figures.

“The new motorcycle market has displayed signs of recovery, steadying after last month’s sharp decline. However, with registrations still in the negative, it suggests consumer confidence has not fully stabilised at the beginning of Q3” commented Symon Cook, Head of National Motorcycle Dealers Association (NMDA), according to the latest figures published by Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA).
