PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE MOTOR FUEL COMPOSITION AND CONTENT REGULATIONS 1999: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT
The Government invited stakeholders to comment on a proposed amendment to the Motor Fuel Composition and Content Regulations 1999, aimed at extending the existng requirement for a protected grade of super unleaded petrol with an ethanol belnd of no more than 5% to be available on the market. This current requirement expires at the end of 2013. The proposal is to extend this for a further three years to 1 January 2017.

MARKET STUDY INTO GENERAL INSURANCE ADD-ON PRODUCTS: FCA
The FCA undertook a market study into the general add-on insurance market in order to establish how the products are sold and whether competition is effective and legitimate. The study looked at whether there are common features of the add-on market that weaken competition and leave consumers worse off, taking into account how firms and consumers behave and how they interact to shape prices and the quality and take-up of products.
