Queen's Speech 2017

On Wednesday 21 June 2017, the Queen’s Speech was delivered, marking the State Opening of Parliament following the General Election.

The Queen outlined the legislative agenda of the Government for the next two years.

With eight of the 27 bills announced relating to the UK’s exit from the European Union, this year’s speech centred around the matter of Brexit and the ongoing negotiations. 

In addition, the Queen announced the Government’s intentions to support electric vehicle infrastructure and tackle rising motor insurance premiums.
