The National Association of Bodyshops (NAB) recently played host to visitors from its US counterpart, the Society of Collision Repair Specialist (SCRS).

The SCRS are visiting the UK to gather information on how standards, particularly PAS125, have influenced the UK accident repair sector in recent years.

The group, headed up by Aaron Schulenburg, SCRS Executive Director, included Barry Dorn, Aaron Clark, Andy Dingman and Kye Yeung. They visited two NAB members businesses, Newbury Crash Repair Centre’s, whose Managing Director, Christine Maskill, is Vice Chair of the NAB Executive Committee and Caversham Coachworks, a long established family firm. Both businesses hold PAS125 certification.

Frank Harvey, Head of NAB said of the day, “It was a very interesting day spent with our American counterparts. The similarity between our two markets is striking and the common approach and ideal on standards is reassuring.

“We look forward to building upon our relationship with Aaron and the SCRS members and truly believe both organisations could benefit from continued communications.”

Following the visit to NAB members businesses, the SCRS group visited other trade association members and will attend the Thatcham Repair Focus event on Thursday 13 June.
