DVSA to sponsor Customer Choice Award at the IGA BIG Awards

IGA 31/07/2025

An unprecedented endorsement of excellence in customer service from the UK’s leading road safety agency.
The Independent Garage Association (IGA) is proud to announce that the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) will be the official sponsor of the prestigious Customer Choice Award at this year’s British Independent Garage of the Year Awards (BIG Awards), taking place in September.
Stuart James, CEO of the IGA, said, “We are incredibly proud to welcome the DVSA as sponsor of this year’s Customer Choice Award. Their involvement is a clear testament to the authenticity and integrity of the BIG Awards. At the IGA, we’ve always championed the garages that put customers first, the ones who go the extra mile, act with honesty, and earn real community trust. This award is about recognising exactly that, and it means even more with DVSA’s support behind it.”
The Customer Choice Award is the only category decided entirely by the general public, making it a genuine reflection of the trust and satisfaction that customers place in their local independent garages. With the DVSA’s backing, the award gains even greater significance, affirming the vital role that independent garages play in maintaining road safety, vehicle standards, and consumer confidence.
Chris Price, Head of MOT Policy for the DVSA said, “DVSA is excited to support the best of the industry at the Big Awards 2025. Independent garages do amazing customer service work under challenging circumstances every day. Their dedication to their customers should be celebrated. The bar is high across the industry and DVSA is proud to be part of this amazing event.”
The BIG Awards 2025, hosted by the IGA, celebrate excellence across the independent automotive sector. From innovation and technical achievement to business development and community impact, each category reflects the industry’s evolving standards, with customer service remaining firmly at the heart of it all.
