Fuel duty hike must be scrapped as Treasury sees £20m daily windfall, says PRA

The Treasury is making about £20m a day in extra revenue from levies and taxes linked to the price of oil and gas.

Gordon Balmer, Executive Director of the Petrol Retailers Association, said: “If the Chancellor wants to help hard-pressed motorists and businesses, she should abandon plans to raise fuel duty and follow other countries by making a temporary cut.”
