NFDA Spring Ball 2019

NFDA 13/05/2019

The NFDA Spring Ball 2019 took place over the weekend at The Grove Resort in Hertfordshire. The National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA), which represents franchised car and commercial vehicle retailers in the UK, brought under one roof dealers, manufacturers, and industry stakeholders at the Ball.

TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith entertained the attendees with his inimitably funny compering style, while, David Gower OBE, captivated the audience with engaging stories from his England cricket national team captaincy. The event was sponsored by What Car?, Allianz and Motor Industry Legal Services (MILS Solicitors).

  • Steve Hicks, Kia Sales Director, collected the Manufacturer Award after the impressive results Kia recorded in the latest NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey.

  • The Industry Initiative Award went to the NFDA HR Working Group thanks to the success of the recently launched employment initiative, Drive My Career. Andrew Stephenson, Group People Director at Lookers, collected the award on behalf of the working group.

  • Richard Roberts, Chair of the NFDA Southern Committee and Managing Director of Trident Honda, won the Recognition Award thanks to the continued support to NFDA.

Richard Roberts commented, “As a dealer, I am well aware of the importance of having a trade association like NFDA representing dealer interests in the part we play in the automotive retail industry. In turn, dealer input is crucial in setting the direction of NFDA’s activity. I am proud to have won the award and I will ensure I continue to support our great industry”.

Sue Robinson, Director of the NFDA, said, “The NFDA Spring Ball provided all our guests with an ideal opportunity to enjoy an evening of fun with retailers and key industry personalities. We congratulate all the award winners on their achievements and thank all those who attended and participated to raise £1,905 for Ben, the automotive charity. We look forward to celebrating automotive excellence with you, again, next year”.
